TDS - St. George , UT

  Mythical Tech Support
Commentry on the above Company/Business :
The only dedicated cable internet provider in St. George, Utah is TDS. They bought Baja a few years ago. Although Baja was not stellar, it provided reasonably reliable service and quickly responded to service problems. When the internet went down in their system, if you called their number, there would be a recording telling you about it, similar to what power companies do. If it was an individual problem, your wait time to speak to someone was usually reasonable (usually less than 10 minutes), and they were very helpful. TDS is nothing like that. Last night prior to going to bed, I tried to check the weather online and discovered we had no connection. It had been working 75 minutes earlier. There was a thunderstorm in the area; so, I wanted to verify it was a system problem that was being addressed and not just our unit. I called their toll-free number and worked my way through the menu to "internet or email problem". I was then put on hold for 30 minutes (verified by timer on my phone), and the rep who came on could not provide information or help on my problem and transferred me to their "internet team". That resulted in another 40 minute hold during which time the internet started working again; so, I hung up without ever reaching someone who could help me. As far as I am concerned, 24-hour technical service by TDS is a myth. If there were another cable service in our area, I would switch regardless of the cost.
